Tap the green + button. Photograph your plate, describe what you ate in plain English, or enter the numbers yourself. The AI identifies each item, estimates portions, and calculates your macros.
It uses standard nutritional values and visual portion estimation, and gives each result a confidence level. It's an estimate, not a measurement. If something looks wrong, use Not quite right? Tell the AI — type something like "it was 5 sausages not 4" and it recalculates.
Yes. Weigh your plate and enter the grams in the Details section. It makes a noticeable difference.
Free accounts get three AI scans a day, resetting at midnight. Manual entry is unlimited, and Vitlo Pro removes the scan limit entirely.
We calculate your basal metabolic rate using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation from your height, weight, age and sex, multiply it by an activity factor to get maintenance, then apply your chosen deficit or surplus.
Yes. Menu → Goals lets you change your goal and deficit, and override the protein, carb and fat targets. If you know your exact BMR from a body scan, enter it under Menu → Profile and we'll use that instead of the estimate.
Yes. Each session is logged separately and they add up across the day. You can remove any individual session from the Exercise tab.

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open the Settings app on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and select Vitlo. Deleting the app does not cancel it.
Open Menu → Settings and tap Restore purchases. If it still doesn't appear, email us.
Menu → Settings → Delete my account. This erases your profile, meals and workouts immediately and permanently.
No. Photos are analysed and discarded — only the resulting nutrition text is saved. See our Privacy Policy.
If a scan fails, check your connection and tap Retry. If it keeps failing, email us with a description of what you were logging and we'll look into it.
