This explains exactly what Vitlo collects, why it needs it, and what control you have. It is written to be read, not skipped.
Vitlo is operated by Hani Hasan, based in the United Kingdom, and is the data controller for the information described here. For any privacy question or request, email trustforge.hani@gmail.com.
We do not collect your location, your contacts, your browsing activity, or advertising identifiers. Vitlo contains no third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
When you photograph or describe a meal, that image or text is sent to Anthropic (the Claude API) for nutritional analysis, and the result comes back to your device. Vitlo does not store your photographs. Only the resulting text — meal name, calories, macros — is saved to your log.
Alongside the meal itself, Vitlo sends the body stats you entered (height, weight, age, sex and goal) and, when you use Coach, the meals and workouts you have logged, so the analysis and advice fit you. Your name and email address are never sent. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
Vitlo asks your explicit permission in the app before any of this is sent, and nothing is transmitted until you agree. You can withdraw that permission at any time under Menu → Settings → AI analysis. Manual meal entry continues to work without it.
Your account and logs are held in Supabase, an encrypted cloud database. Access rules mean each account can only ever read and write its own records. Everything travels over encrypted connections.
Under UK GDPR we process your information on the basis of performance of a contract — you asked us to track your nutrition, and this is the data required to do that. We do not process your data for any other purpose.
If you subscribe to Vitlo Pro, payment is handled entirely by Apple. We never see or store your card details. Subscription status is managed through RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous identifier and nothing more.
Under UK GDPR you can request access to your data, correction of anything inaccurate, deletion of everything, or a portable copy.
Open the app, tap the menu, then Settings → Delete my account. Your profile, meals and workouts are erased immediately and permanently. No email required, no waiting period.
You can also email us and we will action any request within 30 days. If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
For as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your data is erased at the same moment — we do not keep a copy.
Vitlo is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Vitlo provides general nutritional estimates. It is not medical advice and not a substitute for a qualified healthcare professional. Figures produced by AI analysis are estimates and can be inaccurate. If you have a medical condition, a history of disordered eating, or you are pregnant, speak to your GP before changing your diet.
If anything material changes we will update the date at the top and, where it matters, tell you in the app.
